When is cliffs birthday harvest moon

Cliff and Duke are in the vineyard finishing up their work for the day. Duke tells Cliff to take a break, and he won't take no for an answer! Manna is getting worried about how much work Cliff is putting in. While Cliff is a great worker, it would be bad if he collapsed from exhaustion. Duke notices you walking by and calls you over. He tells Cliff to take you up to the summit of Mother's Hill. It's a great day to take in the view!

Cliff would rather be working, but Duke tells him that his work is done for the day. Besides, Duke suggests that Cliff should reward you for helping him get the job. Cliff finally relents and complies with Duke's order. At the summit, Cliff apologizes for Duke forcing him to take you to the mountain. He hopes that you aren't upset, but you're not bothered at all. Duke does have a point though; Cliff hasn't properly thanked you for your help. Cliff feels more comfortable since he started living in town.

Little by little, he's been enjoying his work. Do you like your work too? Cliff is glad to hear that you enjoy your work. He likes his work too, as the fruit he harvests is used to make tasty drinks that people can enjoy.

Cliff really likes that his work feels so rewarding, and he still has so much more to learn. Cliff says that he did make something to thank you, and hands over a Flower Ornament before heading back to the winery. The item he give you isn't for wearing, but you can place it on the trophy shelf inside of your farmhouse or store it in your storage shelf. Cliff apologizes for asking such a weird question.

Cliff suggests that it's time to head back, as he wants to check back with Duke. Duke and Manna are talking about some sort of problem. Manna wants Duke to discuss it, but Duke doesn't want to. It turns out that Duke and Manna are both a bit worried about Cliff.

Of course Manna is concerned, but it isn't something they should be sticking their noses into. You finally intervene to see what's going on. They tell you they weren't fighting, but they are having a disagreement.

Duke wants to ask your opinion on the matter, despite Manna's objections to getting you involved. Duke insists that he has the right to be worried about his family! He asks what you would say is Cliff's weakness. Yea, Cliff is so closed-up that they can't get him to confide in them.

This makes them a bit frustrated. It's good to celebrate a person's strength, but in turn you've to recognize their weaknesses too. Cliff walks into the shop to tell his employers that he has finished work for the day. Duke thanks Cliff for his hard work, and then tells him that you're here to take Cliff out to a meal at the inn.

Ah, is that why you are here?! After eating, Cliff points out how delicious the meal was. Typically the inn's food is great, but for some reason today it's extra tasty. It must be because you were sharing the meal with him. Is it okay if he asks you a question? Before he entered the shop, were the three of you talking about him?

He tends to eavesdrop, but he only caught a little bit of the conversation. He heard his name mentioned, and Duke was acting rather strange.

Cliff wonders if he has done something to annoy Duke and Manna. Cliff is now worried about his employment. There is still a lot to understand to do his job and hopes they don't think of him as unreliable. Cliff thanks you for letting him know. He vows to make a greater effort. Cliff wonders why they would care, as he isn't part of their family. Even though he thinks that might be too good to be true, it makes him happy. Cliff is watching Popuri, Yu, and Mei play together in the plaza. You walk up to Cliff and surprise the poor guy.

He apologizes for acting spooked, as he had been watching Popuri and the kids play together. Even though the kids aren't related, they still are very close.

It's pretty amazing if you think about it. You move behind Cliff and start pushing him towards the kids. They welcome the two of you to their play group, though Cliff tries to pass it off that he was simply walking by. Surprisingly, you agree with him! The playgroup continues to encourage you to join in. Popuri detects Cliff's hesitation and asks if there's a reason why he doesn't want to play with them.

Cliff simply doesn't want to get in the way. Mei and Yu ask what he wants to play, so Cliff suggests a couple of games. Everyone head to the forest to play. First it's red-light-green-light you moved!

Everyone is having a blast playing together! Cliff blushes. He is very grateful that you pushed him forward.

At first he was worried they wouldn't enjoy playing with someone like him, but it was a lot of fun. Cliff enters the house and asks if this is a good time. He'd like to invite you to go foraging for wild items with him.

Of course, if you're too busy you can decline his invitation. You accept his invite and the two of you head out. You head to the the deeper part of the forest behind Mother's Lake.

You both start looking around for wild goodies when Cliff calls you over to search a spot with him. While he appreciates the offer, Cliff says he found plenty of his own.

How about giving the extra to the villagers? You return to the farmhouse after giving away your extras to the other townsfolks. Cliff notes how happy everyone was to receive the foraged items. He's happy too, as it isn't good to do things just for yourself. He's glad he chose to invite you to go with him today. The goddess? Well maybe, but you might have too much to offer. That's a great idea! Cliff is worried if he would be bothering everyone if he just gave them stuff with no advance notice.

He would be more comfortable if you would go with him. The two of you head off to give away the extra goods. The last stop is at Duke and Manna's. They are thankful for the goods. Karen loves all kinds of junk food, including pizza, french fries, and popcorn. She's also fond of more refined flavors such as sashimi, truffle, and wine. With all the cooked recipes and expensive items on her list of preferred gifts, she's definitely one of the harder girls to date in Friends of Mineral Town.

One popular gift Karen dislikes is sweets. Never give her cookies unless it's the Spring Thanksgiving Festival -- that's the only time her affection for you won't take a hit. All Harvest Moon games allow the player to choose their birthday, but in Harvest Moon 64, the player only gets to choose the season; the date is always the same.

On the morning of the 25th, the girl with the highest affection for the player will be waiting outside with a special gift. Karen's birthday gift is a charm bracelet that is rumored to bring good weather, according to the Harvest Moon Fandom Wik i.

It stays in the player's inventory as a special item for the rest of the game. Karen's personality in Harvest Moon 64 is very different from her Mineral Town counterpart.

She's much more sullen and is even rude to the player when they first meet. Karen has an unhappy home life in Flowerbud Village and longs to leave for the city to become a dancer. Her disdain for small-town life shows in her absence from many of the village festivals. She will continue to skip events and leave the village forever in Year 2 of the game unless the player befriends her.

Karen and Rick have been best friends since childhood, and with the player's help, that friendship can turn into something more in Year 4 of the game. Karen is married to Rick and Popuri to Kai in these games, but their husbands don't join them on their girls' trip.

In every game where Karen is available to marry, she is one of the bachelorettes who are hardest to please.

In Harvest Moon 64 , her schedule is the most random, and she also has the most complicated photo quest. In Friends Of Mineral Town, her taste in gifts tend to be on the more expensive side, and in Harvest Moon DS, you can only talk to her and give her gifts on Tuesdays, making her harder to date than the local girls. There is always some degree of difficulty in pursuing her. The other girls use -san , which is more formal in Japanese.

This nuance in language did not make it into the English translation, although it does reflect Karen's personality, which is more easygoing than the other girls'. Harvest Moon 64 was the last game in the series to feature a rapid day-to-night cycle.

An hour in the game was equivalent to 13 real-time seconds at the controller. It was important for the player to maximize their time, and one way to do that was to show Karen your dog while she waited tables at the bar. Karen gained one affection point each time she saw the adorable canine, making it possible to raise her heart level from white to pink in a single night. After that, it's only a matter of time before she'll accept your blue feather.
