Here are the five best and worst boss weapons players can use in the original Dark Souls. Updated February 10th, by Charles Burgar: Boss weapons in the original Dark Souls range from lackluster to absurdly powerful, granting benefits that can't be found elsewhere. While they lack the flourish of boss weapons found in Dark Souls 2 and 3, these weapons still provide build-enabling benefits.
To make these boss weapons easier to understand, a stat breakdown has been added to each entry. Understanding what makes each boss weapon good or bad should be much easier now. This weapon is unique in that it only deals magic damage. Pressuring opponents with its pokes is great for PvP. As for PvE, this weapon pairs exceptionally well with any close-range spells such as Dark Bead.
Considering how early players can obtain this spear, this is certainly a great choice for intelligence builds. As for the blade itself, the Great Lord Greatsword is solid in PvP thanks to its exceptional range, fast swing speed, and above-average Attack Rating. The Great Lord Greatsword's problems are twofold: it is obtained after an entire playthrough and doesn't deal fire damage whatsoever despite the Gwyn fight depicting otherwise.
It can't be buffed or infused, either, making its D scaling in strength and dexterity hard to offset. Players that want a strong straight sword have better options unless they highly value sword range.
Virtually every build in Dark Souls can take advantage of the Dragonslayer Spear. While it does require a massive 24 strength and dexterity to wield, the Dragonslayer Spear has a C scaling in strength, B scaling in dexterity, and B scaling in faith. Faith builds can scale the lightning damage to extreme heights, while quality builds can make the weapon's Physical portion pack a serious punch.
Sage Freke's Light Weapon spell adds magical damage on an enchantable weapon for 60 seconds dependent your catalyst's stats.
The catalyst also need to be held in your other hand. Both are quite weighted options in terms of pros and cons and probably only best for people who really understand the numbers.
It's probably best to cash in the souls and. While the Needle of Eternal Agony sounds good it actually does very little damage. It will give you 20 souls for every blow you land but again, that's not exactly a huge deal.
Even the souls you get for consuming the Mixed Demon Soul isn't much a reward for what's considered one of the hardest boss fights in the game. The Large Sword of Searching looks cool but techically isn't as good as whatever you sacrificed to make it as it can't be enhanced or enchanted in anyway.
It will double your item drop stat if you're holding it, however, which could be useful. If neither of those sing out to you eat it for 36, souls and move on. It can't be traded or used for anything so cash it in and use the souls. It's the weapon that scales with luck is actually one of the most damaging swords in the game. However, the miracle Resurrection is also useful if you're planning on playing with world tenancies as it shifts a world you cast it in towards white.
Death Cloud just inflicts plague damage over time while Relief give you full health and clears status ailments. The Eroded Demon Soul is probably one best consumed for the soul value. The acid spell reduces enemy item durability over time which has it's uses but it unlikely to form a major part of anyone's strategy.

Oh wait, Groen got that covered. Just exercise common sense. Do you want to consume the soul of an immensely powerfu creature, or make a weapon out of it? Lanzagranadas View Profile View Posts. If you're interested in getting Knight's Honor achievement, then no, don't consume any of them. If you don't care about that, you can use Souls from boses that you're sure won't give you any useful weapon for your build. If you're going for the achievements, then you shouldn't, even if a lot of boss weapons aren't good for your build.
I like to collect all the items so i dont.
