Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance. Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.
All additional drivers must be at least 25 years of age. The following are exempt from the additional driver fee but must meet all other driver requirements: the renter's employer or fellow employee when on company business and renting under a corporate account; the renter's spouse or domestic partner; the companion driver of a renter with a disability who has completed the non-licensed renter form; for insurance replacement rentals, company employees or family members who are designated on the insurance policy.
All other additional drivers must complete and sign an additional driver form and present valid credit identification. A maximum of two additional drivers may complete a form. Extensions or late returns may result in additional charges. For all other car classes, a customer presenting a major charge card must be at least 21 years old. A customer presenting an acceptable bank debit card must be at least 25 years old. See Debit Card Policies for acceptable car groups and full details.
At the time of rental, the renter or authorized driver may be subject to an electronic DMV check from the issuing state of the driver's license, or may be asked to sign a declaration attesting to specific criteria:. Fuel Service Charge. Most rentals come with a full tank of fuel, but that is not always the case. Where available, if permitted by law, if you drive less than 75 miles, you acknowledge that we will add a flat fee to the rental, the amount of which will be disclosed on the Rental Contract and at the counter prior to rental.
You may avoid this charge at time of return by providing a receipt for fuel purchased at which time the flat fee will be reversed from your total rental charges.
If this subparagraph a does not apply, there are three refueling options:. The per-mile rate is used if you do not buy fuel during the rental. Although two methods are used for ease of calculation, the per mile and per-gallon rates produce approximately the same result.
Some of our cars are equipped with onboard telematics which record the actual amounts of fuel in the gas tank. In the event your car has such a device, you will be charged for the actual amount of gasoline needed to fill the tank based on the reading of this device.
If you choose this option, you will not incur an additional fuel service charge, but you will not receive any credit for fuel left in the tank at the time of return. If you accept the partial fuel service option at the beginning of your rental, you will be charged as shown on the Rental Contract for that purchase and you will pay a fuel service charge for any fuel not covered by the partial fuel service option.
The per-gallon cost of the fuel service option will always be lower than the fuel service charge. The cost of refueling the car yourself at a local service station may be lower than the fuel service charge or the fuel service option. You acknowledge that the fuel service charge is not a retail sale of fuel. If you put fuel into the car, you must use the correct fuel having the grade of gasoline stated on the car fuel information decal, or on-road diesel.
Do not use ethanol fuel even if the car states that it is a flex-fuel vehicle. Renters who have indicated a country of residence outside of the US will be required to present a non US issued drivers license and a non US issued passport OR an international airline ticket at the time of rental to qualify for the rate.

When driving in New Orleans, right turns on a red light are legal except where no right turn on red signs are posted, so keep your eyes open for those. Taxis are plentiful in New Orleans, and except during the busiest times Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest they can be hailed easily on the street in the French Quarter and in some parts of the Central Business District.
They also usually line up at taxi stands at larger hotels. Otherwise, call and expect a cab to appear in about 5 to 15 minutes; much longer during peak times, events, and in residential areas. Uber and Lyft available only by app are usually readily available, but can be slow to show in the midst of big events. Expect the fare to be slightly less than standard taxis till surge prices kick in which is often. Slow down, stroll, and take it in. One of the best ways to see the city is by bike.
The terrain is flat, the breeze feels good, there are new bike paths and improved driver awareness, and you can cover ground pretty swiftly on two wheels. I guess the drop off was not clearly marked as far as what the procedure is, and an employee did not meet me when dropping off the car. I just had to go inside and all was taken care of. They allowed me to place a pickup time when the place was closed. There was essentially no windshield wiper fluid at all. Everything was perfecto. No one in line when I picked up vehicle or dropped off!!
Good car overall. It may need an oil change and the transmission feels weird in lower RPMs. Avis reviews. They didn't have a car available for me when I had made a reservation a week in advance. I had to wait in the lobby until a car showed up. When a car finally did show up, I realized it had a leaking tire that ended up making me late to where I was going and I had to change the tire wearing a suit after attending a wedding.
Why was this something that was missed? How was this not checked before releasing the car to me? We received a call on the way to DTW airport Detriot by a man saying there was a mix up with our reservation as they were closing at Noon.
Note I made this on March 20 and he is calling me on April 3. I received a reminder email on April 2 too. Literally nothing. It ruined our whole day because we were two hours late after he had to drive us to another location because the one I reserved the car at apparently only had a passenger van he kept trying to get us to take.
There were three of us! Car was not ready. Expected wait was 45 minutes. Car should have been ready. Avis should have texted or called to let us know they were short of cars. Picking up and dropping off were easy. There is no reason given on the receipt. I did not know a Sentra was a midsize car.

Got bad car first I got a bad car that was shaking at the speed more than 55 mph. Was able to change it for absolutely new car in another city's airport without any problem and enjoyed the rest of my trip driving new Ford Edge. I booked SUV but at the pick up office they told me that they had only mid size cars. I insisted on SUV. They found it, but it was bad. They should have checked it. Cheapest deal. Was still charged for car and I never had the chance to pick it up. Teka was very friendly and helpful. This car rental company is off-site from the rental center to provide lower rates, so the facilities are sparse. The car was great and clean and it was an excellent experience. We had difficulty reaching the main number but were finally picked-up at the bus stop at the car rental center.

Take a shuttle or taxi if you're coming in from the airport. If this is your first visit and your hotel is in or near the French Quarter, you'll be walking most of the time anyways. Paying for parking and daily rates for the rental car just wouldn't be worth it.
